Established in 1992, Mahon Farmhouse Self Catering Accommodation is set on a working farm amongst the rolling hills of scenic Co. Monaghan, Ireland.

From the humble beginnings of converting an old loft into the first accommodation on offer, we now have a wide range of self catering holiday cottages ranging from 1 bed apartments to 4 bed traditional stone houses.


Over the years Mahon Farmhouse has remained a family run business in every sense, providing guests with a warm environment and quality accommodation.

Whether you crave the peace and relaxation of the countryside, are a keen angler, want to discover the local area or get active with outdoor pursuits, at Mahon Farmhouse we will always endeavor to ensure your stay exceeds your expectations.

We are centrally located between Ballybay Co. Monaghan and Cootehill Co. Cavan, in the parish of Latton. just 80 minutes from Dublin & Belfast.

Fishing in Co. Monaghan
County. Monahan is a renowned angling center throughout Europe and has some of the best fishing in Ireland. The area surrounding Mahon Farmhouse is an anglers paradise with around 40 lakes within a 10km radius. The dromore river system which streches from Ballbay Co. Monaghan to Cootehill Co. Cavan is right on our doorstep. At Mahon Farmhouse we cater specifically for the angler. We provide full fishing tackle storage with all our cottages, including fridges and provide boats for hire which can be transported to the lake of your choice. Also we have private access to three lakes and Pond View Cottage has a private pond stocked with course fish.          (Click image for more on fishing)
