Fishing in County Monaghan
The Cavan/Monaghan region is
a renowned fishing & angling location, where nature has provided a rich assortment of lakes,
rivers and streams. This region is an absolute fishing paradise with over 400
lakes teaming with
Bream, Roach, Pike, Eel, Tench, Rudd, Perch
and Hybrids. The
Dromore river system which stretches
over 10 miles from Ballybay (Co. Monaghan) to Cootehill (Co. Cavan), has some
of the best pike fishing and coarse fishing in Ireland.

specifically to the angler. We have private access to three lakes and offer a
wide selection of boats and engines for hire. Also each property has its own
bait and tackle storage. There are 40 lakes within 10km
of Mahon Farmhouse. Anglers from the UK and
mainland Europe come to fish our local waters.
